The Community Dialogue on Race and Racism will hold a third action forum on Thursday night.
The forum will allow the public to view ideas generated by past study circles and sign up for future study circles. Interested parties can also learn more about the ongoing work of the dialogue’s various action groups.
The Community Dialogue on Race and Racism was organized by the city in 2007 in an effort to address mounting racial tensions. The project uses a study circle model, bringing small groups of people together to discuss their personal experiences and brainstorm ideas for improving the future.
Action groups made up of city officials and citizen volunteers are then formed to execute the top ideas.
The upcoming action forum will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn Select on Main Street in downtown Lynchburg. For additional information about the dialogue program, contact coordinator Leslie King at (434) 455-4212.
