Carrie Boron

Deputy Communication Director and Operations Manager

Carrie Boron is the deputy communication director and operations manager for Everyday Democracy. She works with the communication director to develop, oversee and implement the strategic direction of the organization’s communications efforts. Carrie is also taking on a new role of managing the organization’s knowledge sharing initiative by developing systems and practices to manage knowledge, assess impact and foster learning within the organization and among partners.

The deputy director helps communications identify and tell the stories that best illustrate the principles of Everyday Democracy. Working as a liaison between communications and research and evaluation, she helps create products and events to share our learning with the deliberative democracy field and our network of grassroots organizers. This work will help generate best practices in the field and lead to more collaboration and knowledge sharing between organizations.

Prior to her current position, Carrie was the communication associate for the Alliance for Justice, a national nonprofit monitoring and reporting on the federal bench. While at the Alliance, Carrie served as acting director for the organization's communications department, managing the organization's press relations, publications and website for its various social justice programs. Carrie began her career as a communication associate for Study Circles Resource Center (now Everyday Democracy).

Carrie holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Maryland at College Park, Md.
