Susan McCormack
Senior Associate
For the past 15 years, Susan has worked with a variety of public and private
clients as a meeting facilitator, program developer, and writer. She specializes
in framing policy issues for public discussion, designing effective public
processes and fostering constructive dialogue and action among colleagues,
citizens, policy makers and community leaders.
Recently, she served as the Director of Leadership at the Snelling
Center for Government, running the Vermont Leadership Institute, as well as
the Vermont School Leadership Project. In addition, she assisted with the design
and implementation of several policy projects, including the well-received
Building Community in a Connected Age and Leadership in a Connected Age
conferences.
Previously, Susan was Program Director for Community Development at Everyday Democracy
(formerly the Study Circles Resource Center). During her tenure at Everyday Democracy, she
assisted many people and communities around the country with their work to
create and sustain public dialogue and problem solving. Susan
co-authored Facing Racism in a Diverse Nation, a discussion guide being
used around the country to help communities address race relations and racial
equity. From 1995 to 1997 she served as project director for the Vermont
Commission on the Public’s Health Care Values & Priorities. Susan has served
on the faculty of the Vermont Leadership Institute since 1999, and is a 2005
graduate of VLI.
Susan continues her affiliation with the Snelling Center for Government and
Everyday Democracy as a Senior Associate. She is also an Associate with Community Initiatives, a network of
individuals and partner organizations dedicated to building healthy and whole
communities.
