Issue Guide Overview

Decatur: A city where planning makes a difference

The City of Decatur has bought into citizen driven city planning. In 1998 the city and Everyday Democracy created the first Decatur Round Tables and ten-year plan. The 2010 version has engaged more than 1000 participants, including more than 600 in small groups that used this guide. Working with planning professionals and based on Round Table results, citizens will continue their involvement in deliberation about specific policy and planning choices that must be weighed and made.
