Rebecca Reyes is the Communication Associate for Everyday Democracy. She monitors, maintains, and evaluates Everyday Democracy’s web presence, including the website, Facebook and Twitter pages, and YouTube channel. Rebecca prepares monthly communication reports and e-newsletters, and researches marketing opportunities. She also works with the communication director to help shape the strategic communications plan to support the organization's missions, goals, and objectives. Prior to working at Everyday Democracy, Rebecca served as a Marketing and Communications Intern for WFCR Public Radio in Amherst, Mass., where she worked with the Director of Marketing to develop their Facebook pages and to assist in event planning. She also interned at Verité, a non-profit that provides auditing, training, and consulting services to ensure that workers at home and abroad are working under fair labor conditions. There she created and updated various marketing tools and organized research for grant proposals. Rebecca’s first experience in the area of marketing and communications was with Rosemount, a part of Emerson Process Management, as a Marketing Engineer Intern. At Rosemount, she managed the conversion of training for the salespeople from face-to-face to electronic form. Rebecca recently received her bachelor’s degree from Smith College in Northampton, Mass., with a major in Portuguese-Brazilian Studies and a minor in Engineering. She enjoys ballroom dancing, photography, playing her oboe, and traveling.
