Strong Starts for Children coalitions launch efforts to help young children thrive

Five coalitions kick off "Strong Starts for Children" intitiative in greater Albuquerque area

In the spring of 2010, Everyday Democracy launched Strong Starts for Children. Through this initiative we're working closely with five communities in New Mexico to help them find ways for all kinds of people to talk, work, and take action together on issues related to the success of all children from birth to eight. Read more about the Strong starts for Children initiative in the Early Childhood Development issue page.

Five coalitions are hosting events during the month of August to launch their projects as part of the “Strong Starts for Children” initiative to bring people from all walks of life into dialogues to work together for the success of all children.

With the aim of creating a brighter future for kids and families, the coalitions will work this fall to bring people from the greater Albuquerque area together to talk about what to do to make their communities better for young children. People will work to bring about success on issues such as school readiness, health, access for families to development and job training, financial literacy, educational opportunities, and more.
