Do you know people who deserves recognition for their path-making social change work? The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard is now accepting nominations for its 2008 Citizen Activist Award.
A few past winners, like Gloria Steinem (2006) and Ralph Nader (1994) are household names, but many lesser-known leaders have won, too. Among them: Sophia Bracy Harris, an Alabama advocate for child care funding; Julie Stewart, who has worked to encourage appropriate prison sentencing for low-level, non-violent drug defendants; and William Wassmuth, founder of the Northwest Coalition Against Malicious Harassment.
