Citizen activist nominations open

The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard is now accepting nominations for its 2008 Citizen Activist Award.

Do you know people who deserves recognition for their path-making social change work? The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard is now accepting nominations for its 2008 Citizen Activist Award.

A few past winners, like Gloria Steinem (2006) and Ralph Nader (1994) are household names, but many lesser-known leaders have won, too. Among them: Sophia Bracy Harris, an Alabama advocate for child care funding; Julie Stewart, who has worked to encourage appropriate prison sentencing for low-level, non-violent drug defendants; and William Wassmuth, founder of the Northwest Coalition Against Malicious Harassment.
