On May 22nd approximately 100 Hartford youth and adults attended the Youth Justice Summit at Capital Community College in Hartford, CT. The event was organized by Our Piece of the Pie (OPP). Most of the youth are part of the OPP youth programs. They participated in workshops about the injustice in the legal system, urban trauma, incarceration, and the school to prison pipeline. Mathew “Sagacity” Walker, Everyday Democracy’s Community Engagement Analyst, presented to the entire group about Dialogue to Change and they were excited to think about what changes they would like to see in their community.

Whether you’re grappling with a divisive community issue, or simply want to include residents’ voices in city government, Everyday Democracy's Dialogue to Change process, using a racial equity lens, can help.
